On April 10–11, 2023, I had the pleasure of spending two impactful days in Detroit, Michigan, as a guest speaker with the Midnight Golf Program.
The experience provided an opportunity to connect with talented young people, share lessons from my personal and professional journey, and encourage students to think intentionally about their futures. Through conversations centered on personal growth, leadership, and purpose, my goal was to remind each student that their potential is greater than any obstacle they may encounter.
I believe one conversation, one opportunity, or one person willing to invest in a young person's future can make a lasting difference. I am grateful to the Midnight Golf Program team for inviting me to be part of their mission and for the continued work they do to prepare students for success beyond high school.
Today, the organization continues its legacy under the name College, Career & Beyond, expanding its commitment to helping Detroit-area students overcome barriers through mentorship, college preparation, life-skills development, and continued support throughout their college journeys.
It was an honor to pour into the next generation and be reminded that when we invest in young people, we invest in the future of our communities.
