Huami Magazine Feature

I am grateful to have been featured in the January/February 2024 edition of Huami Magazine, where I had the opportunity to share my personal journey, the experiences that shaped me, and the purpose behind my commitment to serving others.

Growing up in Metro Detroit, I learned the importance of service at an early age through my parents, who demonstrated what it meant to give back and make a difference in the lives of others. Those early experiences helped shape my passion for education, mentorship, community engagement, and empowering young people.

From organizing community outreach initiatives and alternative spring break experiences to serving as Inaugural Director of Grand Valley State University's TRIO Upward Bound Detroit program, my journey has always been rooted in creating opportunities and helping others recognize their potential.

I am especially grateful for the mentors, family members, and community leaders who have poured into my life and helped shape the person I am today. These influences continue to remind me that our greatest impact often comes from what we give to others.

As I continue this journey as an educator, author, speaker, and community servant, my mission remains simple: to serve with purpose, lead with intention, and make a meaningful difference wherever I am called.

"Serving others is more than what I do. It is who I am."
